Adopt a Boxer / Mastiff / Mixed (medium coat)

Boone is a seven year old Boxer/Mastiff mix who weighs 58 pounds. Boone was found thin and scared and wandering on his own. A good Samaritan helped get him into a foster home. Boone was either on his own for a while and/or neglected by his owners. Based on that experience he is slowly learning to live comfortably with a family and to trust people. His foster family says that he is so sweet. That he is really a lover and loves to be on the couch with you and cuddle. He’s very calm more of a couch potato than energetic. He is very comfortable with the other dogs in his foster home and follows then around. He needs other dog companions in his home that will help mentor him.

Based on his prior life experiences he can be quite timid of new noises, people and environments. Loud and chaotic environments scare him. and he needs a quiet place to retreat to when the household because too loud or energetic. He would do best in a calm environment. He likes kids and is adored by the neighborhood kids, but would do better in a home where there is not a lot of commotion.

Boone is almost house trained and does fine most of the time, but does have accidents. He has access to a doggie door in his foster home so he is able to get outside easily. Boone walks well on a leash,

***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers and we require a home check for each of our adoptable pets prior to them going to their new homes, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family further than 60 miles from Charlotte is responsible for finding a representative of a rescue local to them that is willing to perform the home check. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as the application is approved.***
